Nestled amongst many maple, birch and cedar trees, this lakeside, country cottage offers a wonderful retreat from the hectic city life. Perfect for small families and couples, you will enjoy swimming in a sandy bottomed, no weeds swimming area, plus  bass and lake trout fishing and boating on the beautiful pristine, highly sought after, Palmerston Lake. Located just under 2 hours west of Ottawa and 3.5 hours east of Toronto,winter activities include ice fishing, x-country skiing, skating and snowmobiling. Many summer outdoor ammenities are offered to the guests of this cottage including BBQ and propane, swimming raft with "noodles", complimentary use of canoe and rowboat with life jackets, a large grassed front lawn equipped with table, umbrella and chairs and picnic table, tons of R&R and beautiful sunsets. The cottage itself has been updated and renovated many times over the 50 years that it has been in our family. It is clean, cozy, and furnished with quality furnishings. Infant and toddler furniture is also available. There is a nice private "public" beach across the lake with a gradual entry into the water for young children. A telephone and satellite T.V. with VCR are for your convenience as is a brand new washer and dryer for more extended vacations. We ask that you provide your own linens and towels, drinking water is provided. Groceries, LCBO, mini golf, chip wagon, marina with gas, bait, propane etc. are many of the conveniences the villages of Ompah/Plevna have to offer.Your hosts live year round on the same property, therefore we prefer smaller, quieter groups. We are only too pleased to offer you our assistance.You will not forget your stay at The Pioneer Cottage, Ompah/Palmerston Lake.
